Trick-or-Treat!

First, just wanted to let everyone know that Delainey enjoyed her visit with her daddy and the rest of her family on Chris' side.  She doesn't get to see them very often but did well this time around.  She's getting used to going out there and staying with him over night.  She stayed with him the majority of the time and had fun.  She only came to visit me at the hotel 2 times for a couple of hours each time.  I think it was harder on me than it was on her because I'm used to seeing her and spending time with her every day.  We are going back to Utah again on December 1st so she can visit with him and his family again during his off-season.

Delainey was a princess for Halloween.  She went with my dad and picked out a pink dress that lit up, a silver tiarra and then we got her some black sparkley shoes.  I did her make-up and curled her hair.  She made one beautiful princess.  She did really well Trick-or-Treating although she got tired on the 3rd street but refused to go home because her cousins weren't finished yet.  Every house we went to she said Trick-or-Treat and Thank You.  I had so many compliments on how pretty and polite she was!  It amazed me that a 3 year old could be so polite yet the older kids couldn't even give a short "thanks."

All ready for the Halloween Party on Friday night!

Bundled up and ready for Trick-or-Treating!

Delainey and I sat down the other night and made her out a Christmas list.  Of course she wants EVERYTHING that has to do with Barbie, Polly Pocket, Baby Dolls, Hannah Montana, I-Carly, Tinkerbell, the Disney Princess', Dress-up Clothes, and Taylor Swift.  We narrowed it down to a few things from each category.  LOL.  She really wants the Sparkling Ariel Doll from the Disney Store so I'm going to pick that up tomorrow.  Nothing like starting my shopping early.  She's almost finished shopping for Chris' side of the family.  We only have Chris, her uncles and grandpa left to get something for.  Not really sure what to get her 3 uncles...hopefully she'll pick something cool out for each of them....Ideas anyone?!  haha!

Other than that nothing too exciting is going on with Delainey.

We made it!

We flew in to Utah last night so Delainey can spend some time with Chris.  She does so well on the planes and with the lay-overs we have.  The 2nd flight was a little rough.  She had a bad tummy ache and wasn't dealing with it very well.  She needed to poo and couldn't and of course her medicine was in her suitcase.  Not very fun but she's ok now.

She was very excited that Chris had gotten her her own princess bed equiped with a princess blanket and pillow and put a poster on the wall for her.  She's sharing a room with her brother Ki and is loving every minute of it!  They also went shopping today at Toys R Us.  She picked out a couple of toys to keep at her daddy's so she has something to play with when she's there.  I forgot to tell Chris not to let her get the "Hair cutting Barbie" because I was planning on getting her it for Chrismas but oh well....I'm sure she'll decide she wants something else "really bad!"  HAHA!

She wanted to come see me so I was able to spend a few hours with her this afternoon when Chris dropped her off!  He picked her up around 9:30 and they have a full day ahead of them for tomorrow!  Pumpkin Patch with Heather, Ki, Aunt Missy and Isabelle and then going to watch him play ball with the rest of the family...I think!

The BIGGEST plane I've ever seen!

Shoes, School, and Cleaning.

Well, Head Start was already full so Delainey didn't get accepted.  I received a call last week and they informed me that she is on the waiting list.  She was really looking forward to going to school and riding the bus every day.  We even went out and got her a Tinkerbell book bag.  Oh well, it's been put up and she can use it as soon as she gets in.  She's a very smart little girl but she does need that children interactment.  So, hopefully a spot will open up and she'll get in soon!

Delainey hasn't wanted to clean up her toys lately.  Every time I ask her to clean them up she tells me she will "do it later."  What a procrastinator at 3 years old!  LOL!  I have since started the "garbage bag clean up" and it seems to be working very well!  She gets 3 chances to pick up her toys and if she doesn't and I have to clean them up they go into a garbage bag and she can't have them until the next day.  She's not dealing too well with that but maybe she'll eventually learn that it's her responsibility to keep her toys picked up.  Keeping my fingers crossed that it starts working soon!  :)

So there's this pair of glittery shoes that Chris bought Delainey when we were there back in February to go with her new dress they got for family pictures.  Well, these shoes are now about 2 sizes too small.  Delainey hadn't touched them in awhile and all of a sudden is insisting on wearing them every where we go!  I asked her why she had to wear those and not pick out a different pair and her response was "Because my Daddy got them for me and I like them!"  WOW....she remembers who gets her everything.  She talked to Chris the other day and told him that she needs a new pair of "sprinkly shoes" so he said when she comes to visit he'll take her to look for a new pair!

Looks like we'll be headed to Utah around October 12th.  I hope the weather is nice like it was last October when we were there.  I actually think it was nicer in Utah than it was back here at home.  It should be a nice trip and Delainey is excited to see all of her family out there.  We were actually at the store yesterday and she picked out Isabelle's Christmas present.  She picked out Ki's also but I'm almost certain he wouldn't like a pink stroller...haha!

Random Pics!  =)

She said what?!

Delainey has been somewhat witty this past week! I had told her a few different times not to do something and she continued. Finally, I asked her why she couldn't listen to mommy and she responded with "Momma, I have little ears so I can't hear you!" It may have been the funniest thing she has ever said, and I couldn't help but crack up. How do kids come up with these sayings?! Not only do they come up with sayings no one would ever think of, but they usually do it when you're having a bad day and it just seems to make everything better! :)

So, not only is Delainey extremely witty....she has one CRAZY imagination! First of all, I'm not sure if I had posted this before but Delainey has mysteriously made some "friends" from "school." Everyone knows she does not attend school yet. Well, there are 3 of them and their names are Struptsa, Struptsa, and Trixpa. Now, if you can picture the imaginary friends just keep reading! One afternoon we were both in the living room watching some tv while she played with her Barbies. Out of the blue I hear "My "momma's" in the kitchen cooking." I in turn asked her what she was talking about because I was sitting on the couch. She looked at me and goes "My mom's in the kitchen cooking and my "brother Carl" is eating the food she made." I said ok because I had finally realized that she was pretending. Well....it gets better! About 15 minutes go by and she starts talking presumably to herself but of course, being curious, I ask who she's talking too. She tells me that her "brother Carl" had finished eating and they were talking about her "grandkids" coming over! I started laughing so hard! Not only does my 3 year old have 3 imaginary friends from school, she also has a mom in the kitchen cooking for her brother Carl and a bunch of grandkids! HAHAHAHAHA!!

The time has come for Delainey to be registered for Head Start. We went this afternoon and filled out all of the paper work but of course I had forgotten some things so we will be making another trip up there tomorrow. She is so excited about going to school. She'll be picked up and dropped off at the house by a little bus and will attend 1/2 days 5 days a week. We're praying she gets accepted and I don't see why she wouldn't. I also made sure that she'd be able to miss some time when we go to Utah for her to visit Chris. The lady said that shouldn't be a problem just to let them know ahead of time when she will not be there!

How do you break it to a 3 year old that her daddy won't be coming to town as originally expected?! Well, that happened this afternoon. Chris was sent down to Tacoma last week and I had been avoiding telling Delainey that she wouldn't be able to see him at the ballpark. She kept mentioning going to the game to see her daddy and I would always try to tell her that she may not get to see him in town but she would be going to daddy's house soon. Today she talked to Chris on the phone and he told her he wouldn't be coming to town. When we got off the phone, I explained that daddy wasn't going to be coming to town but that she was going to go visit him at his house. At first she didn't really understand but after explaining it a little further she got upset. She had her little lip pout and saying ok. Once it finally sank in that she would get to go to daddy's house she got excited and named off everyone she wants to see (very enthusiastically she said...Grandma, and long haired Grandma (yeah...I don't know the difference...lol), Aunt Missy, Isabelle, Uncle Brady, Little Brady, and Ki.) So, all in all, I think telling her that Chris wouldn't be coming to town turned out alright because now she's excited about going to Utah again to visit all of her family there!

Baseball and Daddy!

We had a mini-vacation for 2 days a couple of weeks ago. My friend Lisa invited us over to her house to relax and hang out for a couple of days. It was so much fun! The bbq was delicious. We took Delainey's little bike with us and she rode it around the pool. She wanted to go in the pool so bad but was terrified of it. It took me forever to convince her just to play on the stairs but once she did she had a blast and didn't want to get out! Lisa has a little dog named Max. He is adorable and Delainey loved him but not so sure he was that fond of us! LOL!

Chillin in the pool!

Riding her little bike!

Chris was called up with the Seattle Mariners right before the All-Star break. The Mariners were in town this week so Delainey got to spend some time with her daddy. They spent the day together on Monday since he had an off day. It took a little while for her to get reacquainted with him since she hadn't seen him in 5 months but once she did she was fine and I was able to leave. They played hide and seek and Delainey had to go to the bathroom but didn't want to get out of her hiding spot and she had a little accident. It wasn't a big deal. Chris put her in the bathtub and I ran down to get her some clean clothes. They played ball too. It was so funny when Chris would catch it Delainey would just laugh and laugh. Chris also got us tickets to the games and Delainey had a blast. She absolutely loves going to the games. I took her down before and after the games so she could see him and wish him luck. He didn't get in to play but Delainey still enjoyed seeing him at the ballpark again. There was a rain delay before game 2 but it was still fun. I thought it was adorable that Delainey screamed at Chris from out seats during the games and during the 2nd game actually got "mad" at him because he wouldn't wave at her! LOL! Try explaining to a 3 year old that daddy didn't wave because he couldn't hear her! :) Chris also gave her a baseball every time we were down there so now she has a little collection going. It was kind of tough telling Delainey that Chris had to leave. She didn't quite understand why daddy had to leave to play ball when he was already playing ball. I know she loves every minute she gets to spend with him since she doesn't see him very often. Chris said that they'd be back in town in about 3 weeks so Delainey's looking forward to that! I think they have another off day also so it will be a full day she gets to see him instead of just a few minutes at the ballpark! :)

GO TIGERS....unless daddy's up...then it's Go Daddy!
Outside the ballpark waiting for the tickets to come down to Will Call.

With Santa PAWS. She was absolutely terrified of PAWS until Wednesday's game. Thank goodness she finally likes him! :)

With her daddy after the game right before he left.

What a long and exhausting week it's been!

We've had some crazy weather here in MI this year so far! A 70 degree day in February, a few warm days in April and May...now it's June and it's only 60 degrees! Will it EVER warm up?!

Allergy season has kicked in for Delainey! She has had a runny nose, itchy throat, and watery eyes for the last 4 or 5 days! I feel so bad. Her doc took her off of the zyrtec saying that she was better without it. So now...we are battling the allergies head on! At night she gets a dose of tylenol runny nose just so she can sleep and be able to breathe!

Our camping trip was cut short due to taking Grandpa to the hospital. He was admitted but hopefully will get to come home sometime this week!

We did have a lot of fun the afternoon we were there! Delainey loved playing at the little park, looking at the water, and talking to the cows! She wanted to go in the pool but it was just a little too chilly to go swimming! There was also this older couple across the road way that had a little dog, Annie. Delainey just fell in love with this little dog and took up with the older gentelman real well too! It was kind of funny because she preferred to stay at their campsite instead of ours! There was also this giant slide. She was scared of it at first but once she went down the first time she loved it.

Climbing up to the slide!

On the tires!

Talking to the cow!
Delainey has been one little firecracker the past 2 days! She has done everything in her power to NOT listen to me! She tried my patience so bad I thought I was going to scream! Another thing I'm trying to get her out of the habbit of is making me tell or ask her something more than once! This is something that REALLY needs to be worked on because she is at the age where she thinks she can do everything for herself and that mommy can't tell her anything! I can not wait for this stage to fade!

What a day...

Chillin on the slide!

Being goofy! :)

On the swings.

Climbing on the monkey bars.

Love that smile!

What a day we had. It started off with Delainey having one of those attitudes where she really didn't want to listen. I was in the bathroom getting ready to go (just like every other day). However today Delainey never came into bathroom to do her "make-up" as well. I went searching the house and to my surprise I could not find her! I ran outside frantically searching for her. In a full out panic I ran to the neighbors house. Yep, you guessed it....my 3-year old daughter had decided that she wanted to go visit Connie. I yelled at her for scaring mommy and she cried for about 15 minutes. I know that she felt bad but I was still terrified. I have since bought a new lock for the door that will be installed high up so she can not reach it!

We also finally made it to the park. I've been busy so it's been hard to get her there. She had a blast even though it was really hot and she couldn't go down the slide because it kept burning her legs. We were only there for about 30 mins because she doesn't handle the heat very well.

She also picked out a little pool. It's cute but I thought it would have been a little bigger. It's a whale and has a little slide....you can also attach the hose to the slide and makes a little sprinkler as she slides down it. She loves it!

She's going on her first camping trip tomorrow. My grandparents have invited us out for the weekend so we're going for an over-night trip. We'll be back sometime on Saturday afternoon. She's excited and can't wait to go in the "big" pool. LOL. I'll have photos of our trip that I will post when I have some time next week.
