1st day of school!!

Yesterday was Delainey's 1st day of preschool.  She is going Monday through Thursday in the afternoon (12:30-4).  She picked out her outfit the night before and was so excited when she woke up!  She was ready to get dressed and go at 8 am (even though school doesn't start until 12:30...lol.)  She wanted to call her daddy on her way there and got to talk to him before she went into her class room.  I thought for sure she would cry knowing that I wasn't staying with her but she didn't.  What a big girl she is.  I can not believe how big she is already.  It seems like she was a baby just yesterday.  I picked her up at 4 and she told me, "Mama, school is awesome!"  :)  She told me all about her day and what they had for lunch but couldn't remember what she learned until this morning...haha!  She also called Chris after dinner to let him know how her day went.  What a treat it was for her to be able to talk to her little brother, Ki, and step-mom, Heather.  She was sooo happy cause she normally doesn't talk to them on the phone!  She's excited about going to school and can't wait to see her family in Utah.  She'll be there in less than a month to visit for a few days!  :)

We also went to Apple Charlie's Farm on Friday to see the animals and pick some apples!  What a blast that was!  Delainey got to feed the animals and pick her own apples.  The cow was very playful and kept mooing at her because she wouldn't give him anymore food!  lol!!

Heritage Park

Delainey and I went and had our pictures taken last week at Heritage Park.  I went to high school with our photographer, Angie, and she did a GREAT job at capturing the two of us!  Delainey did amazing and had a blast!  We'll be ordering them soon for our family and friends and Delainey's family in Utah.  Now...the hard part of deciding which ones to order since I love them all!  LOL!

Here's a couple but you can view the rest of them at Angela Gerber Photography!

We also got the letter last week that Delainey has been accepted to the Head Start program this fall!  YAY!!! :)  She will be going for half days during the afternoons, Monday - Thursday!  She is soooo excited.  We've been working real hard on the recognition of her letters and numbers and she's catching on pretty quickly.  We go in mid-August for her orientation and she can't wait!  Meemaw already bought her a bookbag!  :)  Now...for the physical and dentist appointment and the school shopping to begin!  :)

Hope everyone is doing well!

Such a sweetheart.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO ALL OF THE DAD'S!!

Wow...I haven't posted in awhile.  Sorry about that!

We've had some real bad storms around our area lately.  A real good friend of ours and her family lost their house on Saturday, June 5th, during the tornado that went through Ohio.  Her little girl is 6 years old and had lost all of her toys.  Delainey heard me talking about it and volunteered to sort through her toys and give some to Emmalee!  She is just so thoughtful and I'm very proud of her for donating some of her things to someone that needed them more than she did.  She sent a barbie doll, a couple of baby dolls, stuffed animals, purses and books.  I'm also glad that she has a giving heart and didn't expect anything in return.  :)

We also just got back from a weekend in Virginia.  We hadn't been down there since 2007 and it was great seeing all of our relatives down there.  We had fun at the family reunion and Delainey really took up to her Great Great Aunt Faye.  She just followed here every where she went and even helped her cook some food for the reunion.  Delainey also did really well on the long drive down there and back home.  We drove at night on the way there so she slept through most of the drive.  On the way home we came back during the day.  She did awesome.  She started getting anxious and crabby after 6 hours of being in the car (she was able to get out when we stopped for gas and food) so we stopped at the next rest area and spent some time outside before finishing the drive home.

(Entertaining herself on the drive home)

Delainey wishes her daddy a very Happy Father's Day.  She wonder's how Isabelle and Ki are doing and says HI to everyone!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

We wish all of you a safe, blessed and very Merry Christmas!  Nothing beats spending time with family around the holidays!

Delainey had a really nice Christmas.  Every Christmas we go to my grandparents house to celebrate with mom's side of the family!  Delainey had a blast.  She got new pajama's, a littlest pet shop set, gloves and a blanket.  It was nice to see and spend time with everyone.  Missed you yesterday Aunt Earlene...hope you're feeling better!

Delainey didn't get up til 8 this morning and was SO excited to see the presents from "Santa!"  She got a 5 piece Disney Princess Baby Doll set (stroller, play-pen and high chair that turns into a car seat and swing) and a Tinker Bell hopper ball.  She has been playing with that ball since she saw it!  She also got clothes, a polly pocket doll set, Jasmine Doll, jasmine and ariel polly pocket size doll sets, a cash register (although she was upset that it wasn't purple she ended up liking it anyways...lol), a play make-up set, a barbie purse with accessories, a few movies, her own little baking set (which she can actually bake with), roller soap for the tub, chapstick, all of her stocking stuffers (she called the Brazil nuts "rocks"  it was hysterical)...seems like I'm forgetting some things but that's all I can remember for now!

Again...we want to wish everyone a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! ~Sharon & Delainey~

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

I can't believe my princess is 4 already!  Today is her actual birthday but we had her party on Saturday.  It was a fun day surrounded by family and friends!  We went and picked out her cake earlier last week and of course she picked out the princess cake.  Delainey was VERY impressed with it when we picked it up for her party.  She had so much fun opening her presents.  Her facial expressions just showed the excitement with every gift she opened!  She thanked and hugged everyone for her gifts and then we did the cake and ice cream.  She made sure to tell everyone not to sing "too loud" because it hurts her ears.  It was humorous to hear everyone singing "Happy Birthday" in an almost whisper!  HAHA!!!

Also, my friend sent me a link that allows you to have a video message from Santa e-mailed to you!  I did it for Delainey and she LOVED it!  Santa knew exactly where she lived and that she has been working really hard and being nice and saying please and thank you!  He also knew that she wants a Barbie Doll for Christmas and that if she continues being good he can probably bring her one.  It doesn't take long to fill in the form to have it e-mailed to you and it is well worth it...not to mention free!  Here's the link if anyone is interested!  http:/portablenorthpole.tv/home.  Enjoy!  :)

Trick-or-Treat!

First, just wanted to let everyone know that Delainey enjoyed her visit with her daddy and the rest of her family on Chris' side.  She doesn't get to see them very often but did well this time around.  She's getting used to going out there and staying with him over night.  She stayed with him the majority of the time and had fun.  She only came to visit me at the hotel 2 times for a couple of hours each time.  I think it was harder on me than it was on her because I'm used to seeing her and spending time with her every day.  We are going back to Utah again on December 1st so she can visit with him and his family again during his off-season.

Delainey was a princess for Halloween.  She went with my dad and picked out a pink dress that lit up, a silver tiarra and then we got her some black sparkley shoes.  I did her make-up and curled her hair.  She made one beautiful princess.  She did really well Trick-or-Treating although she got tired on the 3rd street but refused to go home because her cousins weren't finished yet.  Every house we went to she said Trick-or-Treat and Thank You.  I had so many compliments on how pretty and polite she was!  It amazed me that a 3 year old could be so polite yet the older kids couldn't even give a short "thanks."

All ready for the Halloween Party on Friday night!

Bundled up and ready for Trick-or-Treating!

Delainey and I sat down the other night and made her out a Christmas list.  Of course she wants EVERYTHING that has to do with Barbie, Polly Pocket, Baby Dolls, Hannah Montana, I-Carly, Tinkerbell, the Disney Princess', Dress-up Clothes, and Taylor Swift.  We narrowed it down to a few things from each category.  LOL.  She really wants the Sparkling Ariel Doll from the Disney Store so I'm going to pick that up tomorrow.  Nothing like starting my shopping early.  She's almost finished shopping for Chris' side of the family.  We only have Chris, her uncles and grandpa left to get something for.  Not really sure what to get her 3 uncles...hopefully she'll pick something cool out for each of them....Ideas anyone?!  haha!

Other than that nothing too exciting is going on with Delainey.
